Daily Calorie Requirements
Your body burns calories, even while your sleeping. The number of calories you use each day is called your basal metabolic rate. By adjusting your intake you according to your level of activity you can maintain or even lose weight. But don't try to quickly lose weight before your pregnancy by drastically reducing your calorific intake. Many experts recommend that you should never cut your intake to more than 500 below your basal metabolic rate.
Becareful! You don't want to lose weight or start a diet after conceiving. Your doctor will be monitoring your diet to make sure that your weight gain is appropriate for your size and stage of pregnancy. The results provided by this calculator are based on averages. Many fitness clubs will offer to measure your basal metabolic rate so that you know exactly what your body is burning each day.
