Jane,
I just received the e-mail alert about your post. Your evidence is clearly convincing and conclusive. My personal concern is not so much the supposed 'link' between MMR and the onset of autism, but the way in which parents are not clearly and easily provided with a choice of vaccines.
Surely the easiest way to put a parent's mind at ease about the issue is to give parents the option of a multi-vaccine such as MMR or the three mono-vaccines. The three mono-vaccines would undoubtedly cost 3-times as much to administer, but at least parents would feel they had a choice in the matter.
I think that the real reason parents have been so vocal in their concerns about this is because they feel that they are being forced to use a vaccine that has raised concerns in the past. If this was not the case, the whole subject would be a non-issue.
Of course I'd like to hear some dissent and debate...
