Pregnancy and hypothyroidism

I would like some advice and insight. I am 9 weeks pregnant and have been informed that the baby could be mentally retarded as a result of thyroid going irregular especially in the 2nd trimester. I am sure I don't want to take this chance and have made arrangements for a termination. I have ongoing problems with my boyfriend which I am afraid I will end up bringing up this child alone I have three children from a previous relationship and the youngest is 10. So I feel I am over having babies any advice would be appreciated.
