carpal tunnel syndrome

I went to the doctor and told her about the numbness and tingling in my arms and she said it was carpal tunnel and it would more than likely get worse but would go away after the baby is born. She said there was nothing I could do about it. If anyone else had this please let me know what you did to help thing I can't stand it I wake up at least 5 times a night! Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
